Participating in an online auction

Registration, how it works, and auction types

Are the auctions open to everyone?

Yes. Any individual or business can participate by creating an account and accepting the terms of sale. Some sales may require a deposit or prior approval.

What’s the difference between a Timed and a Webcast auction?

A Timed auction closes automatically at a set time. A Webcast auction is run live by an online auctioneer, with real-time bidding.

How do I register and bid?

Create an account at bid.bidcontinental.com, confirm your identity if required, then place your bids directly on the lots. You can bid manually or enter a maximum bid.

Can I view items before bidding?

Yes. In most cases, an inspection period is scheduled the day before the auction closes. Depending on the mandate, a visit by prior appointment may also be possible.

Payment must be made within the timeframe stated in the terms of sale, generally 24 to 48 hours after closing.

How do I pick up purchased items?

The buyer is responsible for transport and dismantling, unless stated otherwise.

Do you offer delivery?

Delivery may be available depending on the type of asset. Terms are specified for each auction.
